One of the primary goals of Forever Forgiven Ministries is to obtain and distribute individual study Bibles to every prisoner.
Bringing Light to the Darkest Souls
Do you turn to the Bible for guidance and comfort? Daily delving into God’s good news can be one of the most rewarding and life-changing things you can participate in. It feeds your mind and soothes your spirit. More importantly, it can keep you firmly set on the right path, guiding you and illuminating the way to avoid stumbling blocks. As Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Unfortunately, for those in prison – those who need it the most – finding and reading a Bible can be difficult, if not impossible.
Why? There are several obstacles presented an inmate desiring to read the Bible including:
- Restricted access to prison libraries
- High costs of new copies and limited funds to purchase them with
- Limits on the number of books inmates can possess at a time
- The banning of hardcover books
- Severe damage to existing Bibles including torn, defaced, and missing pages
Clearly, the relief and salvation found in God’s word is hard to come by.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 : All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Each of us on the Forever Forgiven Ministries team has seen the transformative power of scripture on prisoners, and we want to be sure that every inmate has access to the light, comfort, truth, and training so richly available in those holy pages. Won’t you help? Call 570-966-7017 to learn more.
